About John

Hi, I’m John Boxley—an Emmy Award-winning former NBC News producer who spent over 30 years covering some of the biggest stories on the planet.

From war zones to political battlegrounds to the crack of the bat at ballparks around the world.

But long before the breaking news alerts and satellite feeds, I was just a kid in Anaheim, California, gripping a baseball that felt too big for my hand and chasing big-league dreams on a dusty Little League field.

You know the kind—we all had them.

Baseball has always been my constant—my escape, my obsession, and now, my happy place.

After retiring from the news business, I created Box-Seats.com to share a lifetime of baseball passion and perspective.

Whether you’ve got a Little Leaguer pitching this weekend, you’re a parent, a coach hunting for the perfect drill, or just someone who still remembers their first ballgame with a smile—this site is for you.

I’ve been lucky enough to witness some legendary moments—Nolan Ryan’s 100-mph heat in ’74, Fernandomania in full swing in ’81, and Bonds rewriting history in 2007. Those snapshots shaped my baseball soul.

So pull up a seat—let’s talk. There’s always room on the bench.

Welcome to Box-Seats.com.
